Position Summary

   Process Development and Device Fabrication Technician for the fabrication of infrared detectors for the research and development group.  This includes, but is not limited to, a range of cleanroom mechanical and semiconductor processes including HgCdTe/CdZnTe material handling, chemical handling, polishing, etching, photolithography, FTIR measurement, thin film depositions or etches, material inspection (optical microscope and scanning electron microscope) and device assembly.   

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute instructions per provided traveler for fabrication of semiconductor devices. 
  • Operate and maintain deposition, etch, and photolithography tools for semiconductor device fabrication.
  • Maintain and record any observed process deviations. 
  • Work with process engineer to ensure process work instructions are accurate and correctly followed.
  • All other related duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications and Required Skills
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • 2 or more years of experience and Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to handle fragile and sensitive piece-part devices with tweezers or other manual tools. 
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision. 
  • Capable of working in a clean room environment. Work experience in a Class 100 clean room is mandatory. 
  • Ability and desire to learn a broad range of tool sets and processes covering all process modules in clean-room. 
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and excellent data collection, documentation and reporting skills.
  • Working knowledge with computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and floor control systems.
  • Must be able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment. 
Desired Skills
  • Experience in semiconductor material handling especially HgCdTe processing.
  • Familiar with wafer/Piece parts photolithography tools, optical microscopes, Nanospec, etc.
  • 5 or more years of experience in semiconductor device processing and material handling.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
