Job Summary

Supervise and work directly with personnel engaged in the receipt, storage and distribution of supplies, and equipment. Provides leadership for employees engaged in the handling of supplies and equipment. Prepares work schedules, enters patient charges, prepares and sends daily orders electronically to our supplier. Responsibilities include inventorying and requisitioning items for the Central Supply storeroom. Assists in the research of product usage, adding or removing products to par locations and investigating various supply related questions.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years of experience working with medical and surgical supplies and equipment with experience in a supervisory manner

Essential Functions
  • Provides leadership for employees engaged in the distribution of medical and surgical supplies and equipment through exchange cart, par level carts, requisitions and telephones calls.
  • Prepares work schedules, exchange cart assignments and monthly assignments for Central Supply technicians. Assures adequate coverage at all times with fair distribution of duties.
  • Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures to employees as needed to broaden their scope of knowledge. Provides necessary backup skills and assist in training and cross training for all employees including new employee orientation. Assumes the role of a staff position as necessary to enhance the efficiency of the department.
  • Makes daily inspection of supply are to ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available. Communicates with the supervisor of Inventory Control and manager of Central Supply any shortage of supplies or equipment that exists.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plans and coordinates activities of volunteers assigned to Central Supply.
  • Collaborates and plans department activities with the manager of Central Supply.
  • Resolves informal complaints of employees, referring the more complex matters to the Central Supply manager. Reports to the Central supply manager in writing on performance of employees, progress and training needs, disciplinary matters and the need to review internal policy and procedures and/or guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned as assigned by authorized personnel or as required in emergency, e.g., fire or disaster.
