Title and Summary

Product Manager Technical - data/dashboards/metrics Overview
Token Services Lifecycle management team is responsible for ensuring customers can manage every token (digital card) in every digital wallet, allowing Mastercard Digital services to scale.

The Product Manager – Technical in this team will be responsible for Features related to data management, so it is a requirement to have good ability for handling data at a technical level and good acumen for data interpretation and reporting.

The Product Manager – Technical lead will also take a data-driven approach to product enhancements, extracting the required data from the difference sources in a technical context and placing it the right tables with the final goal of made it usable to be presented in dashboards and user interfaces.

Role / Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing inspiring platform/product visions, derived from business needs, market opportunities, and technology trends
• Using the Working Backwards method, decomposes business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the platform/product roadmap
• Works with Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to define the details behind the business requirements
• Collects and shares user Stories with engineering teams
• Identifies gaps and charters new platform capabilities as required
• Makes use of research, user studies, metrics and competitive analysis to understand the platform and business needs for a platform product
• Compares features for competitive review to inform prioritization within a platform product release
• Identifies innovations or performs test and learn experiments to create features that add more business and customer value for a platform product
• Participates with the business in customer research to inform platform product feature needs
• Contributes near-term input (quarterly) for the platform product portfolio and roadmap
• Makes trade-off decisions on platform product features
• Uses runtime metrics of their services in market as a feedback loop in to the backlog and balances the priorities against new feature requests
• Determines release goals for the platform and prioritizes assigned features according to business and platform value, adjusting throughout implementation as needed
• Continuously monitors Feature development at the Feature level
• Reviews product demo with the development team against acceptance criteria for the feature set
• Identifies issues that will keep the platform features from delivering on time and/or with the desired requirements and communicates to leadership
• Supports and participates in post-launch reviews and ensures feedback is reincorporated into the feature
• Independently identifies and researches anomalous performance; escalates findings to senior management
• Establishes a network within the organization; begins to build internal and external networks
• Mentoring team members
• Assists with candidate selection and onboarding

All about you – experience

• Technical background, not required to develop or program but required to participate in the design of complex solutions involving data management. Must have hands on experience with databases and APIs
• Must be analytical, problem solver with high-energy, detail-oriented, and proactive with the ability to function in an independent environment
• Experience with APIs design and ability to communicate not only the “what” but also the “how” to developers when it comes to APIs based solutions
• Experience with database technologies and database language, ability to perform queries at a medium level of complexity. Understanding of databases interconnectivity
• Experience delivering successful software applications, experience with Agile methodology and Scrum
• Understands the technologies supporting the platform/product and is able to hold your own in debates with other Product Managers, Engineers, Architectures and Developers
• Good verbal and written communication skills, proficient at refining Features and User Stories, setting entrance/exit criteria and prioritizing product backlog with the ability to communicate with all levels of management
• Experience building organizational relationships, partnering with and influencing teams while commanding the respect of the individuals on the team
• Advance knowledge in databases and SQL
• Programming knowledge enough to at least be able to understand code and discuss it (Phyton, Java, C++, XML, JSON, etc.)
• Ideally some experience of testing, and software quality
• Understands and can explain the business context and the associated customer use cases
• Experiences with some of the following: Payments industry, Cloud, Big Data, Data Science/Analytics, Microservices; is a big plus
• BE/MS in Computer Science or alike
