Software Quality Engineer II Overview

The Data & Services team is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing cutting-edge services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include payments-focused consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business Test & Learn experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services. MasterCard Data & Services enables customers across industries and geographies to make smarter decisions and reach better outcomes with a tailored portfolio of solutions beyond the transaction.

We are looking for a Software Quality Engineer with strong knowledge of testing and quality practices and protocols to join Mastercard's Intelligence team. As a member of the Mastercard Intelligence team, you will bring your technical knowledge, testing and development skills to build, deploy, and scale real-time interactive applications for thousands of clients across the globe. The team supports a data platform that leverages the Mastercard data along with 3rd party and client data to track performance and identify underperforming groups of customers. Our next-generation platform blends industry-leading analytics, advanced software architecture, and the latest web technologies. You will play a vital role within a rapidly growing team, working closely with experienced and driven engineers, to solve these challenging problems.

Position Responsibilities

As a Software Quality Engineer II, you will:

• Develop and own full-stack applications using .NET and database technologies like SQL.
• Generate and execute test plans for Data pipelines.
• Perform automated and manual testing and validate results to confirm adherence and conformance to installation standards and methodologies.
• Coordinate and participate in review and testing activities to ensure the quality and functionality of assigned MasterCard developed systems.
• Review project test and implementation schedules. Monitor, document, and report the current status of projects.
• Participate in review of project deliverables.
• Retain documentation necessary to plan for future assigned testing.
• Adhere to and enforce consistent company and department testing standards and procedures.
• Ability to coordinate and interact across multiple departments.
• Identify and document process improvements.
• Build high-value analytics off of large data sets while keeping performance top of mind
• Continuously innovate and determine new technologies to improve our product suite

All About you:

• Experience writing and executing test plans incorporating more than just functional manual testing.
• Experience with validating data or with ETL data process testing

• Experience with product support and issue triage, including troubleshooting
• Experience with database technologies at scale, proficiency with SQL is a bonus.
• Proven track record of innovating and leveraging new technology and working in team environment.
• Passion for solving complex analytical/quantitative problems in real-world scenarios
• Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and desire to thrive on scrum-size project teams
• Solid technical foundation with a degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
