We have an outstanding opportunity for a Critical Care physician with Cardiovascular ICU experience to work in the Surgical ICU unit at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, including the MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute. This opportunity will allow you to join a well-established cardiovascular program that involves great collaboration with surgeons, intensivists, cardiologists, and other specialists. There is also strong APP support on the team. There is also a pathway for credentialing in TEE, IABP, CALS, ECMO Cannulation.

Standard shift expectations: full-time position includes 146 shifts per year. Day shift schedule is 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. Night shift schedule is 8:00 pm – 4:00 am. Team consists of 12 physicians during daytime and 4 physicians during nighttime.

Clinical responsibilities: include multidisciplinary rounding within our intensive care units, triage, new patient admissions, and standard critical care procedures. During non-clinical weeks, providers are encouraged to participate in departmental activities. MedStar Health offers considerable opportunities in research and leadership development.

Requirements: Valid DC medical license or ability to obtain DC license, American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification, and board certification in Critical Care Medicine. Cardiology experience is also required.
