General Summary of Position
Coordinates and oversees general nursing care to ambulatory patients under the supervision of a Physician, Administrator or Registered Nurse. Ensures that the Physicians and Nurse Practitioners are assigned appropriate LPN and MA support to safely and efficiently provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing. required and
- Bachelor's degree BA/BS preferred
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
- 3-4 years Work experience in a health care setting. required and
- Previous supervisor experience preferred
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Licenses and Certifications
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse required and
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and
- Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledge of examinations, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Knowledge of medications and their effect on patients.
- Ability to calculate dosages as needed.
- Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medication, as directed.
- Ability to take vital signs and maintain records.
- Computer skills and aptitude and prefer previous experience with EHR systems.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient, medical staff, and the public.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
