Shift/Hours/Location: M-F, 8am-5pm, Onsite, Moses Lake, WA

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Development & Deployment: Sourcing strategy execution to improve quality, total cost, availability, and drive competition. Identify new grow suppliers, create simplicity through supplier rationalization / optimization (Grow, Limit, Maintain, Phase Out). Sustain business continuity plans (BCP), performs project management of strategic initiatives. 
  • Forecasting: Evaluate end-user Customer forecast for impact to raw materials, completed with actions for Purchasing Agents to execute. Generate non-binding supplier forecasts in compliance with contracts to support Commodity Managers.
  • Savings Initiatives: Identify and drive Cost Savings projects. Drive lowest total cost, utilizing creativity and best practices.  Supports Commodity Managers to negotiate contracts, identify sourcing opportunities, keeps abreast of industry trends, understand material market movements and effects on commodities. Delivers save (PPV) and cost avoidance to set goals.
  • Quality: Supports supplier report cards, supplier audit and subsequent finding closure, sourcing review board (SRB), supplier deep dive & due diligence (D&B, Z-score, etc.), supplier qualifications, PCN, ship-to-spec, ship-to-control, metrology matching. Support Commodity Manager with quality improvement plans, continuous improvement roadmap, audits, process maps / flows, SOP's/WI, root cause analysis, 8D / CAPA / RCA / postmortems, scenario planning, risk assessments & business continuity planning (BCP).
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Set direction for supplier, act as escalation point, support and/or lead business reviews, executive review meetings (ERM) and management review meetings (MRM) as Commodity Manger determines. Drives organizational initiatives/systems forecasts.  Project management & performance against schedule (PAS).  Maintain & analyze key commodity data, metrics, and indicators (CSI/KPI).
  • Supplier Contract Management: Supplier survey, selection, debrief & award, including RFI, RFP, RFQ, NDA, contracting, negotiation. Negotiate with suppliers to support save, contract penetration and other deliverables for contracts. Lead Stakeholder reviews and approvals for supplier contracts, monitors, assesses & re-bids/re-negotiates. Monitors supplier and company/facility contract compliance and performance.
  • Assist in developing functional area and department budget & spending plans.
  • Support Manager in additional scope as to be defined.
  • Performs other related duties as directed as this list is not all inclusive.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Buyer, Commodity Analyst or Jr. Commodity/Category Manager or related work experience preferably in chemical supply chain in R&D and high-volume-manufacturing (HVM) environments.
  • Semi-conductor or high-tech experience, prefer chemical background & experience.
  • Analytical skills, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinking, scenario planning, & risk mitigation understanding and application.
  • Effective time manager with high organization & managing competing priorities; ability to prioritize and plan operational workload, balance competing priorities, self-manage with minimal oversight.

  • Strong analytical & benchmarking skills, toolset usage, planning and problem solving, including applicable technology, tools & industry best practices.

  • Ability to travel (Local country, USA & International), up to 75%.
  • Office location in local geography, at Moses Lake, WA or remote upon approval. Remote previous experience preferred - demonstrated ability to work remotely effectively with no impact to results.
  • High level knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • High level arithmetic and grammar.

PPREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefer BA / BS in Supply Chain Management. A relevant degree, equivalent work experience, professional certification, college degree with a minimum of 2 years supply chain work experience or path to degree or industry certification will be considered.
  • Prefer certification as an APICS' “Certified in Production and Inventory Management” (CPIM), “Certified Supply Chain Professional” (CSCP) and/or Institute of Supply Management (ISM) Certified Professional Supply Management (CPSM) preferred.
  • Prefer minimum LEAN Six Sigma Yellowbelt.
  • Prefer Lead Audit certified, preferably ISO9001:2015 or supplier audit experience.
  • Previous experience with business acumen in global chemical supply chains.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $65K-$88.4K

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and high purity manufacturing environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as: hardhat, safety glasses and full leather shoes, etc. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc.
