Job Description:

The NPI Senior Manufacturing Engineer -Electrical will be based in Fremont. The NPI Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible  to lead, manage and implement significant operationally focused projects. These individual will be specifically defined to deliver benefits to our manufacturing partners working collaboratively with Nextracker's Program,  product development, R&D, sourcing and quality team to drive on qualifying production processes bringing project to mass production.

Here is the key role of what you will do…

  • Collaborate with R&D, hardware and program team to manage transfer from prototype to NPI in contract manufacturers.  

  • Work with R&D to review/develop manufacturing process set up in contract manufacturers, ODM, JDM from prototyping phase.

  • Conduct comprehensive manufacture and supply strategy within budgets and schedule with Program and Sourcing team to meet launch schedule.

  • Anticipate roadblocks, coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues in manufacturing processes, technical incidents, and capacity ramp up.

  • Review manufacture partners production input/output/quality yield and continuous improvement.

  • Liaise with Quality Assurance and design teams to address and resolve manufacturing-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory and safety requirements related to manufacturing processes and equipment.

Here are some of what you'll need (required)…

  • 7-10 years experience as a manufacturing process lead, familiar with NPI process, preferably from large ODM vendors with +5 years in serving large OEM customers in consumer electronics, or home appliances, or medical.

  • BS in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Experience of managing multinational team and sites is required.

  • Familiar with Project Management methodologies, and capable to manage the projects in waterfall and/or agile approach.

  • In-depth knowledge of development and manufacturing processes such as PCBA manufacturing, machining, injection molding, assembly, and automation.

  • Understanding quality 8D methodology and ability to support on root cause analysis and process improvement.

  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Familiarity with CAD software and ability to interpret engineering drawings.

  • Self-starter and take initiatives to learn and explore solutions in contributing to the organization.

  • Be able to drive on their own most of high level discussions with stakeholders when escalations needed

  • Ability to leverage and understand escalation path whenever needed.

Salary Range - $135,000-$160,000
