Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 6 or more years of demonstrated work experience in Program Management in support of DoD Program Management Office (PMO), Program Executive Office (PEO), or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products/ services; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in business, finance or administration
  • PMP and/or DAWIA Level III PM or Financial certification
  • 10 or more years of demonstrated program management experience with 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience managing progressively complex programs and systems of a technical nature for program areas such as Counter Radio Electronic Warfare (CREW), Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (JEOD), Underwater Explosive Ordnance Disposal (UWEOD), Expeditionary Medical (ExMed), and Anti-Terrorism Afloat (ATA). Candidate shall possess a DoD acquisition background with respect to executing acquisition category (ACAT) II-IV levels and Abbreviated Acquisition Programs (AAPs) and have familiarity with Department of the Navy (DON) program office business practices.


Responsibilities

The Deputy Program Manager will be concerned with the overall planning, direction and success of major programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives which have great significance to the activity's and agency's needs. Programs are typically large, multi-year efforts divided into several sub-programs/tasks. The Deputy Program Managers will also be responsible for the overall program definition, organization, and direction of short and long range plans. This includes the responsibility for formulating, guiding, and directing the technical approach; and defining and negotiation with activity and agency personnel for necessary resources. Establishment and control of technical milestones, schedules, budgets and costs are also essential tasks for the Deputy Program Manager.
