Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 7+ years of relevant experience conducting wargames, exercises, crisis simulations, and/or analytic assessments
  • Experience leading the design, development, planning, and reporting of wargames, exercises, experiments, seminars, simulations, workshops, or other similar analytic events
  • Demonstrated experience developing concise, well-written analytic products to inform decision making and presenting analytic results, both verbally and in writing, to senior audiences
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills; able to work well leading teams, individually, and as part of a team
  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Proven project management experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Other qualitative methodologies (survey design, etc.) in addition to wargaming
    • Teaching wargaming or analytic methods
    • Expert knowledge of modern military operations
    • Assessing the operational impact of planned or conceptual weapon systems


Responsibilities

SPA seeks a passionate and dedicated wargame professional with a demonstrated record of success in dynamic, high-impact environments to support a rapidly growing project. The individual will play a leadership role in a cross-functional, high-performance team leading the design, planning, and execution of wargames, workshops, and other analytic events supporting a diverse array of government clients. Relevant tasks include project management, leading wargame design and development, directing and conducting research, analytic report writing, briefing Senior decision makers, and educating junior analysis on wargaming methods. Candidates can expect to work closely with government customers as a wargame director and project lead. Candidates can expect to manage multiple tasks concurrently, often with constrained timelines. Tasks may be aligned to the individual's expertise and interests but will often require individuals to rapidly learn and apply new knowledge and skills. Successful candidates will quickly be rewarded with leadership opportunities and direct engagement with external clients and stakeholders.
