Our office specializes in small to mid-sized projects for clients across Canada. The types of clients we work for include:

  • Heavy Industrial Facilities
  • Pipelines and Refineries

Your Role: 

We are currently searching for a Civil Structural Designer to join our Civil Structural team in Calgary. Your main responsibility will be to design, model, detail, and draft 3D models and 2D drawings of Grading Design, concrete, and steel structures, while working with other designers under the direction of engineers and senior designers. If you thrive in a collaborative and professional atmosphere, you will enjoy a strong sense of camaraderie among our talented team.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with lead designer and engineer to scope out projects and establish project objectives
  • Coordinating work with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, etc.
  • Performing civil structural modelling using governing codes and industry standards and experience
  • Conducting option studies in relation to site layouts
  • Creating, organizing, and updating drawings for FEED and detail design
  • Preparing quantity estimates for projects within the department

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Civil Structural Engineering/Design diploma
  • CTech, ASct, or ASET considered an asset
  • Proven civil structural design experience in EPC or consulting company
  • Good understanding of applicable industry codes and standard practices
  • Proficiency with the following required: Civil3D & AutoCAD 2D and 3D
  • Proficiency with the following an asset: ProSteel, SmartPlant, CADWorx or Microstation, Navisworks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive client and project team relationships
  • Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Periodic travel within Canada to client sites and regional Tetra Tech offices may be required. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing and background checks may be required for our client worksites. As this position may be serving clients that have vaccination requirements for site access, we may be confirming your eligibility to comply with this requirement.
