Your Role:

The IT Support Technician coordinates diagnoses and troubleshoots incoming employee calls from both local and remote users. S/He provides support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving mobile device, desktop, laptop, or network services from field personnel. Provides timely resolution of problems or escalation on behalf of the field user to appropriate member of the support team. Provides ticket status updates to management and end-users. Supports and maintains effective relationships with users while adhering to IT standard operating procedures.

 

The ideal candidate should anticipate working 20 – 30 hours per week based on need.

 

·       Answers incoming Helpdesk calls from local and remote users and creates tickets to document issues.

·       Works with support team to proactively identify problems and facilitate resolutions.

·       Communicates the performed resolution of problems to users and solicits feedback.

·       Prioritizes Helpdesk tickets and documents issues/resolutions thoroughly in Help Desk software.

·       Troubleshoots mobile device and laptop issues for local and remote users.

·       Troubleshoots remote connectivity issues.

·       Assists with the deployment of workstations and laptops.

·       Assists with tracking IT assets.

·       Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.

·       Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

·       Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

·       Additional duties as required.

Qualifications: 

·       AA/AS or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related field.

·       Experience with correcting hardware and software problems on mobile devices and laptops.

·       Strong understanding of basic networking fundamentals.

·       Helpdesk Support or related experience.

·       Typing skills (55 WPM or better).

·       Experience with mobile phone applications (iPhone and Android platforms).

·       Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365/19.

·       Must have reliable personal transportation.

·       Strong verbal communication skills.

·       Ability to work independently with minimal day to day instructions.

·       Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Work environment depending on assignment can be indoors or outdoors in extreme heat and humidity. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to perform lifting tasks of up to 25 pounds for short durations. Duties of this job may involve standing and/or walking for extended periods of time. Duties also involve daily keyboard data entry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
