Summary of Job Duties: The Lab Support Technician I will play a vital role in providing essential support services to laboratory operations, assisting with sample handling, equipment maintenance, and general laboratory tasks. Your contributions will help ensure the efficient functioning of the laboratory environment and support the work of laboratory personnel in conducting experiments, research, and analysis.

Pre-analytical Tasks:
• Evaluate specimens for adherence to lab requirements for testing including adequate identification, sample container types, sample volume, centrifugation.
• Assist bench techs with set-up, maintenance.
• Maintain temperature dependent equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, incubators, water baths, heat blocks.
• Load specimens on and off automated analyzers.
Support Duties
• Organize and clean workspaces.
• Ensure adequate supplies required for daily operations are available by restocking inventory, rotating stock
• Communicate with clinics, physicians and external staff regarding sample integrity issues and/or critical values.
• Complete other tasks requested by supervisor
Continuing Education
• Maintain current knowledge of hospital policy, state, federal and other regulatory requirements.
• Maintain continuing education, annual education and/or training as required for position.
