Summary of Job Duties: A Research Associate position is available in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This position will assist all Principal Investigators and Laboratory Staff in the five (5) basic science departments in the College of Medicine to maintain research equipment by organizing and staffing a Biomedical Sciences Engineering Shop. The Research Associate will be responsible for maintenance and inventory of tools and supplies for repair of laboratory equipment, researching equipment needs, assisting in ordering equipment parts, sharpening small tools, and customization of small equipment parts. The Research Associate also will assist in tracking inventory for all basic science departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus seven (7) years of research experience required. Experience with repair and maintenance of research equipment and laboratory work is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to perform maintenance & repairs on research equipment.
- Ability to assist with new equipment setup.
- Ability to research for replacement parts & equipment specifications.
- Machines or equipment used regularly in your work.
