Summary of Job Duties: The Expense Reimbursement Supervisor works within the UAMS Travel Management group, reporting to the Director of Procurement, and will oversee the Expense Reimbursement Coordinators in the centralized processing of employee business travel requests and reimbursements for the consolidated UAMS entity. The Expense Reimbursement Supervisor also provides consulting services to travelers, travel processors and administrators on travel processes, procedures, policies, and regulations. This position monitors and reconciles monthly travel card payments and maintains proficiency in current prudent business practices and processes related to business travel in accordance with UAMS travel policy and state law.

Responsibilities:
• Provide Travel Department Administration
• Reconcile Corporate Travel Card Payments
• Serve in a supervisory capacity by assisting in hiring new staff, overseeing onboarding staff members, and providing feedback and direction to Reimbursement Coordinators.
• Review and evaluate employee travel requests and travel reimbursements
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of study plus four (4) years of related experience including one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role OR a High School diploma plus eight (8) years of related experience including one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role
  • Ability to interact positively with a wide variety of personalities 
  • Skilled in Communication
  • Knowledge of generally accepted business practices
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work on a computer for 8 hours per day and daily phone use

Preferred qualifications:

  • Training in the travel industry or business setting with a focus on customer service, office organization and a variety of communication methods
  • Six (6) years of experience regularly providing service to the public and administrative support to coworkers
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting and business practices
  • General knowledge of travel or hospitality industry
  • General knowledge of accounting software systems as a user
  • Working knowledge of Workday
