Position Summary: 

Performs specimen processing and accessioning in the Referral Lab.  Performs various types of specimen collection, phlebotomy (including mobile route) and drug test monitoring.  Reviews lab reports and performs quality review and troubleshooting, resolving problems as they occur. Serves as member of laboratory client services team. May prepare specimens for testing, accessioning and packaging for dispatch to outside labs according to written protocols.

Salary Range: 

 

Hourly Rate  Minimum   $25.13                   Midpoint               $28.19                   Maximum $31.25

 

Required Qualifications:

 

 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I)

Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes gained through education, experience or a combination of the two

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to pass EKG competency test

Must provide proof of vehicle insurance in compliance with UC policy

Current State of California Driver's License

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Employment contingent upon completion of satisfactory background investigation.  Position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.

Access to reliable, personal transportation in order to commute to and from various offsite locations

Certified Phlebotomy Tech I(Required)
