Position Summary:
  The mission of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of California, Irvine is to facilitate and enrich the education and personal growth of its students through their participation in competitive NCAA Division I athletics.   The Director of Video Production reports directly to the Sr. Associate AD, External Affairs and will be the main point of contact for Big West Conference Broadcast Production and Operations, ESPN and Game On Entertainment. This position will facilitate and manage relationships and staffing as well as work with Senior Administrators to determine production and technical needs for individual sports. The Director of Video Production will work with Media Relations and coaching staff for any additional story pieces to highlight UCI programs or campus activities, and will work with Anteater Sports Properties for sponsor ad schedule and broadcasts. This position will also produce content for TV broadcasts in coordination with Athletics and University digital marketing teams.

  The expected pay range for this recruitment is $81,900.00 - $82,500.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $81,900.00 - $150,500.00 (Annual Salary).

  Required:
  • 1-2 years experience preferably in Intercollegiate Athletics
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Advanced knowledge of design and communications concepts and applicable software applications. 
  • Advanced knowledge of production processes for a variety of media and knowledge of vendor requirements for a variety of products. 
  • Advanced design, creative and artistic skills. 
  • Advanced skills to devise broad design ideas, present them to clients, and produce results on time and within budget. 
  • Advanced interpersonal communications skills, including active listening skills and skills to work effectively within teams and to effectively provide advanced design advice and consultation to clients on all aspects of visual communications. 
  • Critical thinking skills, advanced organizational skills and proactive problem-solving / problem resolution skills. 
  • Ability to lead and mentor others in the department.


 

Preferred:
  • Advanced knowledge of the location, including its vision, mission, goals, and objectives.


 

Special Conditions Required:
  • Must work some nights, weekends and holidays 
  • Must travel
