The Department of Sustainable Earth Systems Sciences (SESS) at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applicants for a Postdoctoral research position in the field of InSAR and its applications, which will be funded and mentored by Prof. Yujie Zheng. Research topics of interest include, but are not limited to, monitoring crustal deformation from tectonic activities such as slow slip earthquakes, monitoring the sustainable use of aquifers, and understanding the impact of soil moisture variation on InSAR measurements. The researcher will also be encouraged to help write research grant proposals and conduct independent research.

Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.



Preferred Education and Experience

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related field by the time of hire. The successful applicant should have experience working with InSAR data, either in terms of processing and developing methodologies or in terms of interpretation and deformation modeling. The postdoc will be part of a larger active research group in Geophysics and will be involved in helping to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The position is initially for one year, and is renewable depending upon performance and funding.
