Job Description

VillageMD is currently seeking a Dermatology & Wound Care, Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our established primary care practices in Peoria and Mesa, AZ. We're growing and we're looking for providers who share our passion for excellence and enthusiasm to drive positive change.

Position Summary: The Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) will work in a clinic setting alongside our other providers diagnosing and treating common dermatologic conditions and diseases; perform full body exams: screening for malignancies; educating patients on preventive care; ordering and interpreting laboratory tests; reviewing pathology reports; performing skin biopsies; and counseling family members as appropriate to a patient's situation. This Advanced Practice Provider will see patients at two clinics, located in Peoria, AZ and Mesa, AZ.

Job functions:

  • Evaluate and recommend treatment for all dermatology patients.
  • Assumes accountability for the quality of care delivered.
  • Maintains and efficient and timely workflow.
  • Communicates and provides care consistent with age, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient.
  • Follows organizational and departmental guidelines.
  • Communicates appropriately and professionally with physicians, directors, supervisors, managers, and staff.
  • Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties/activities of health care team members.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of care given by team members.
  • Participates in organizational and department Performance Improvement activities.
  • Identifies and solves problems effectively.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:

  • Master's degree required.
  • APN License required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • SMG Recognized Board Certification (ANCC, AANP)
  • 1 year of dermatology experience required.
  • Familiar with the basics of dermoscopy and willing to train to ensure proficiency
  • Would care experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing required.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Strong ability to perform diverse work assignments and make decisions with time limitations and with a high degree of accuracy required.
  • Strong problem solving, and critical thinking skills required.
  • Strong multi-taking and priority setting skills required.
  • Experience with standard office equipment (phone, fax, copy machine, scanner and Email/voice mail) preferred.
  • Experience with standard office technology in a Window based environment preferred.
