Description

Ohio based Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an Associate Director of Medical Education. This is a key leadership position responsible for supporting the Director of Medical Education in overseeing and advancing medical education programs within the organization. The Associate Director is charged with elevating the Akron Children's academic profile by enhancing our existing fellowship programs, providing more robust support and development for fellowship directors and to strategically develop new specialty fellowships to
address emerging needs in pediatric healthcare and in alignment with enterprise priorities. Akron Children's Hospital is the largest pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio, and is ranked among the best children's hospitals by US News and World Report.

This integrated healthcare system includes:
•Two free-standing pediatric hospitals
•1,000+ providers, who manage nearly 1,600,000 patient visits annually
•A network of 50+ primary and specialty care locations
•Robust research and innovation endeavors through the Rebecca D. Considine Research
Institute
•Academic appointment at Northeast Ohio Medical University is available and
commensurate with experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Development and Evaluation
• Program Evaluation and Quality Improvement

• Accreditation and Compliance

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
2. Board certification in a medical specialty.
3. Demonstrated experience in medical education, curriculum development, and program
evaluation.
4. Advanced degree in medical education, education, or a related field (preferred).
5. Strong knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements, such as those set by the
ACGME.
6. Familiarity with competency-based education and assessment methodologies.
7. Experience in faculty development and supporting educators in medical education.
8. Proficiency in educational technology tools and platforms.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
with diverse stakeholders.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
