Description

This position is for a board certified or eligible attending psychiatrist to work at the AMCH Psychiatric Services on Saturdays and Sundays, 9a-5p, three weekends per month, supervising residents and overall patient care on the 26-bed inpatient unit and the consultation-liaison service including consults in the AMC ER and on the medical floors. The psychiatrist will see designated patients with the resident on both Saturdays and Sundays and may be required to provide care separate from the resident work schedule.

In addition, consultations conducted by the AMC Psychiatry resident on-call will be seen and supervised by the psychiatrist and education on treatment planning will be provided to the on-call resident. The inpatient service line is typically completed during the first half of the eight-hour shift and the remainder of the shift allows time to complete consults with the resident in the ER and in the hospital and to be available for guidance and task completion needed on the inpatient unit. The AMCH Psychiatry Service prides itself on maintaining a supportive, collaborative, and respectful educational atmosphere with strong working relationships between faculty and residents and department leadership.

The candidate is eligible to apply for an academic appointment as Assistant Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to this part-time position, per diem weekend options are available.
