THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a world class compiler engineer and a technical leader to help us build the Vitis AI ML compiler environment for current and future AMD XDNA devices, including the recently released Ryzen AI, Alveo V70 and Versal ACAP.  You will work on the next-generation compiler tools to enhance the AI capabilities. This involves compiling machine learning models onto cutting-edge hardware with AI-engines, on these next generation AMD devices.

THE PERSON:

If you are passionate about software architecture, compilers and machine learning this is your opportunity. You will be someone with great depth of experience in compilers and compiler frameworks such as MLIR, LLVM and be read to hit the ground running writing some of the key components of the software involved in mapping AI/ML models from frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLIR. You are someone that has insight into performance optimizations and will be able to think of novel solutions, implementing them from concept to production. You should be someone who can work in a dynamic, fast-paced development environment, with excellent leadership and collaboration skills. You will work with multiple engineering teams that are geographically dispersed. You will work on next generation compiler software, guiding other senior developers and domain experts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Have great experience in mapping ML networks to custom accelerators
• You will work with MLIR dialects, execution models, optimizations, and code generation
• You will be a technical lead, and gain expertise in AMD's AI-engine hardware capabilities
• You will architect complex ML software tool chain written in C++

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Proficient in C++ programming
• vast experience with machine learning networks, particularly CNN-based
• depth of experience with compilers, dataflow graphs, MLIR and dialects
• Highly preferred - knowledge of custom accelerator hardware
• significant years of experience in technical leadership
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
• Team player and ready to work with a geo dispersed team

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS (Please do not apply unless you have): 

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields, and
