SMTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 

THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for an experienced Software Architect to make intuitive high level decisions for software development. You will see the “big picture” and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development team.You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest software technology.  

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Collaborating with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
• Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility

• Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
• Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Proven experience as software architect
• Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred 

• Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail 
• A technical mindset with great attention to detail
• High quality organizational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
