THE ROLE

Customer Lead System Engineer works with customer and designer developing server platform, enabling customer server system development and solving customer issues.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with EPYC OEM/ODM partners on server system design from concept development, architecture and system topology implementation, high-speed IO analysis, and platform issue triage
  • Work with EPYC OEM/ODM partners to enable successful deployment of AMD server platforms by augmenting customer solutions with technical collateral including whitepaper, application note, user guide on customization and tuning, reference design materials, and debugging tools.
  • Engage directly on key technical topics, issues, architecture discussions, and performance optimizations with customers and internal teams and steer of multi-parties discussion to convergence.
  • Analytic ability to address technical issues and generate creative solutions.
  • Ensure dependencies and deliverables tracked across different teams involved. Define the program risk management plan and drive mitigation and resolutions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or MS in Electronic Engineering (or relative engineering fields)
  • 15+ years of platform development experience
  • Technical and project tracking experiences by driving OEM, ODM and ecosystem partners to build the solutions.
  • Requires a broad knowledge and application of hardware engineering disciplines, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong knowledge in the following fields: Server architecture, x86 processors, multiprocessor systems, hardware design, and system management
  • Experienced in software skillsets like firmware, BIOS and platform debugging.
  • Strong self-learning capability in different adjacent technical areas, highly motivated self-starter
  • Able to understand customer requirements and pain points and architect solutions to solve customer problems.
  • Experience in working directly with global customers and enabling them from concept to production.
  • Team player with passion and will to do whatever it takes for business success with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive team results.
  • Good presentation skills. Fluent in both written and spoken English.
