THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate has experience and leadership experience in managing Design Verification (DV) teams. You also have excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead an x86 Core DV engineering team.
- Build a team and nurture talent.
- Lead the team, participate in technical discussions, meet schedule commitments, and provide strong support to customers.
- Collaborate with multi-functional leaders, such as RTL, Physical Design, and Performance team leaders, to drive AMD's success.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- A strong leader with experience working with distributed teams.
- Prior experience in Design Verification is a must.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Computer Architecture, Microprocessor DV methodology, DV processes, testbench design, and quality requirements.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
- Proven experience managing and leading engineering teams.
- Strong system and software engineering background.
- Strong communications skills. Able to summarize complex problems for executives as well as drill down to details with architects and engineers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze current behavior, identify potential areas for improvement and design of experiments
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
