Tech lead - Business systems

The Role:

This role requires developing, delivering and supporting IT initiatives for business units. Through direct interaction with stakeholders and internal business partners, the person will help drive IT alignment with the team's goals and business needs. They will also play a key role in defining business requirements and work alongside development teams for the successful execution of IT portfolio projects.

The Person:

• The person should have strong communication skills with the ability to help translate the business needs into IT results.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to identify potential issues and drive the team to solutions.
• The person should possess the desire to tackle additional responsibilities and learn a variety of business models or processes, such as IT project governance and data analysis.
• The person should have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• The person should have experience in SDLC phase and will be a liaison between the business and IT Team and incubate a project right from requirements gathering and manage till implementation and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and document business requirements to align business demand with IT understanding. Bridge gap between business requirements and IT solutions ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment.
• Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs.
• Develop as well as review code updates, architecture and technical landscape.
• Techno-functional understanding and guidance for all platforms including SAAS, PAAS/IAAS and custom tools. 
• Possess and develop business acumen to accurately lead business requirements, build use cases, storyboarding and testing scenarios.  Document requirements, flow diagrams, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.
• Prior experience on Coordination with business users, subject matter experts and developers required.
• Analyze system and business data to align with project requirements and functional documentation.
• Beyond just capturing business requirements, tie requirements to decisions that need to be made and to strategic objectives, or corporate KPI's.
• Agile and story boarding experience. Drive all project management and artifacts to completion to ensure project compliance.
• Assist in execution of project life cycle, including as-is and to be analysis, scope definition, process improvement and testing in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Analyze architecture design and provide consultation to IT teams. Evaluate designs and ensure compliance to business requirements.
• Provide technical support and design enhancement for various application. Assist with problem solving and issue resolution – including partner concern and prioritizations.

 Requirements and Skills Needed:

• Problem Solving – ability to identify key potential technical issues. Roll up the sleeve when in need to troubleshoot and drive team to derive optimal solutions.
• Excellent communication skills – ability to help translate business needs into IT deliverables.
• Strong desire to learn a variety of business models and processes, IT project governance and data analysis and willing to take up additional responsibilities.
• Ability to build and evaluate business cases for operational improvements and understand how technology can be leveraged to accelerate operational improvements.
• Willing to challenge requirements based on an understanding of prioritized objectives. Demonstrate expertise in a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to work in a team environment delivering quality software that meets requirements working to a timeline.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere.
• Explore new business solutions and improvement opportunities to continually enhance the functionality that fulfills user needs.
• Experience working directly with end-users, vendors, business, and technical team members.
• Be a self-starter and motivated person to be continually enhancing your skills to be aware of the latest software development trends/skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new programming languages, frameworks, and paradigms.
• May provide consultation on complex projects. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science/Information Technology with a minimum 7-8 years of experience.
• Extensive experience in implementing high quality, scalable and extendable .Net solutions using Azure, ASP.NET, C#.Net, VB.net, ASP.NET MVC, JQuery, Angular, Backbone JS.
• Experience using Azure DevOps pipeline and Git repositories.
• Good hands-on experience in using Atlassian tools JIRA / Confluence / Azure Boards / Smartsheet.
• Experience in REST API development, SQL Server, NoSQL database, and RDBMS design and optimizations.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and application Integration knowledge, Cloud hosting, ERP systems and Custom development solutions hosted on-premises or in the Cloud platform.  
• Experience in support, maintenance, and release management of the entire project management life cycle of applications.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint. MS Project and Visio a plus as well.
• Knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles, and best-practice patterns.
• Understanding of typical web application life cycle, SOA, and micro-services patterns would be nice to have.
