THE ROLE: 

We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Supplier Relationship Manager to join our DC GPU team. This role is crucial in managing supplier relationships from a technical perspective, ensuring alignment of roadmaps, driving cost efficiency, ensuring a stable supply chain, and facilitating smooth introductions of new products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive initiatives that enhance supplier relationships and optimize performance.

THE PERSON: 

To be successful in this role, you must be passionate about delivering the best possible customer experience, cultivating strong and enduring relationships with customers, and enabling them to deliver the best server products in the world. You must enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and matrixed environment and thrive on collaboration. This role is inherently cross-discipline in nature as you will interact regularly with many different teams and functions including platform applications engineering, ecosystem enabling, product management, business segment, sales, field applications engineering, and core internal engineering teams. You must have a solid foundation in server engineering, have successfully delivered products in mass production, and be willing and able to quickly learn key aspects of the technology in order to be conversant and effective in new areas with minimal ramp time. You also possess outstanding people skills to lead, motivate, and guide world class engineers.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage supplier relationships from a technical perspective, serving as the main point of contact for technical discussions, escalations, and issue resolution.
  • Align supplier roadmaps with company objectives and product development plans, ensuring strategic alignment and mutual success.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, process optimization, and value engineering, while maintaining product quality and performance standards.
  • Ensure a stable and reliable supply chain by monitoring supplier performance, identifying risks, and implementing contingency plans as needed.
  • Facilitate the introduction of new products from suppliers, collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth transitions, timely launches, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, quality assurance, and supply chain, to drive initiatives that enhance supplier relationships and optimize performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance collaboration with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, including suppliers, to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to supplier management and technical sourcing.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on supplier performance, cost savings, and initiatives to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven experience in supplier relationship management, technical sourcing, and supply chain management.
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of product development processes and engineering principles..
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives that deliver results.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align supplier strategies with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with supplier management software and tools preferred.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.

  • PMP certified is a plus

 

LOCATION: 

Austin Texas preferred but will possibly look at remote
