Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to join our team at Applied Industrial Technologies.  In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the General Accounting department.  This includes supervising and training accounting staff and providing support to the Manager of General Accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient management of financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and develop up to three direct reports, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training and feedback.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, including identifying and resolving reconciling items.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and reports.
• Provide audit support as needed through regular interaction with internal and external auditors.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
• Ensure that the processes and controls surrounding the financial close process are documented in a manner which ensures adequate internal controls.
• Monitor compliance with accounting-related policies and procedures.
• Complete ad-hoc assignments and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA/MBA a plus.
• Five to seven years relevant accounting experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• SAP, BPC, and BlackLine experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to work proactively with cross-functional teams
• High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and balance work in a deadline-driven environment with high level of responsibility and ownership.
