Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Subtask Leader for the C&D Aegis product Team. This position is part of our middle management team to direct a product team of responsible engineers with contract tasking across the AEGIS Program and support customer requirements. This position is located in Mount Laurel, NJ where Technology and Teamwork come together to provide independent service and support to the team of AEGIS Technical Representatives.

The qualified candidate shall perform the roles and responsibilities of a Direct Report Manager and inspire teams of responsible engineers with independent C&D product engineering and technical support to the government project lead and provide communications other Product, System Engineering, and Test & Evaluation Task Leads. The qualified candidate will be required to collaborate with an integrated team of government customers, engineers, technologists, and military veterans dedicated to providing independent quality assessments of development of computer programs critical to the defense of the United States and Foreign Military Sales.

The candidate's primary responsibilities will be to provide and brief the U.S. AEGIS Navy TECHREP customer of all technical and process aspects of the integration and development of the product based AEGIS Weapon System and Ballistic Missile Defense functionality into the AEGIS Combat System environment. The candidate's responsibilities will include and not be limited to the following:

  • The ability to articulate and provide a true and accurate account and status of the C&D product technical aspects in a clear and concise manner to the government project lead
  • Demonstrate the ability to technically assess C&D product testing aspects conducted by the developer and or other Government agencies
  • A proficiency of all Aegis development processes
  • Consult and brief the division Task Lead of all technical or programmatic actions during development and any issues involving product lead support
  • Coordinate, plan, collaborate with the T&E Division for system testing events and necessary support
  • Coordinate and support ad hoc lab test shots to promote hands on Aegis submode training for direct reports
  • Provide weekly status briefings and inputs into an Automated work flow tool suite and track and manage product team work effects
  • An ability to articulate and correct the C&D Product Teams accomplishments into cohesive value added statements
  • Experienced with addressing employee personnel issues and following through by applying BAE company polices as required
  • An ability to follow, execute, and support directives from within a chain of organizational structure with enthusiasm and successful completion
  • Experienced with inspiring knowledge growth amongst a team of a rising work force of individuals
  • An ability to multi-task and structurally delegate prioritized tasking as required
  • An ability to adapt and promote new process shifts from routine work flows
  • An ability to utilize digital engineering techniques and apply model based system engineering principles across processes
  • An ability to respond to customer and leadership requests with urgency


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering in any of the recognized Engineering disciplines and/or 6 years of equivalent experience with US Navy / AEGIS Combat System
  • Proficient with Microsoft Professional Tools Suite
  • Experience with Dassault and Atlassian software applications
  • Experienced with IBM Rational Software tools and thorough understanding of requirements traceability
  • Detailed understanding of the AEGIS Combat System data analysis structure to assist in innovating and promoting new methods to assess data more efficiently
  • Demonstrate and provide technical inputs instinctually when required
  • Demonstrate quick decisions and apply logical reasoning within fast pace and highly visual situations
  • Demonstrate the willingness and desire to further gain technical knowledge
  • Possess excellent oral, written, and leadership skills and work independently
  • U. S. Citizen and eligible for a high level DOD Security Clearance


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Technical Writing experience and the ability to formulate value added statements
  • Possess current DOD Security Clearance


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
