Job Description

BAE Systems Inc. is seeking an Enterprise Infrastructure Architect to support the Air Force Solutions (AFS) Strategic Systems Information Services team. The selected applicant will join the IS team as we seek to deliver world-class capabilities for our client and its associated contractors, driving productivity and innovate new solutions. This team supports a variety of user-related IT issues. This position will include the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Architects, plans, designs, develops new enterprise architecture.
  • Duties may include setting up infrastructure, account management, systems and server administration, technical documentation, tuning system performance, and installing software on servers and workstations.
  • Conducts capacity and performance analysis. Provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
  • Uses automated tools and scripts to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work with internal and external organizations to support various customer user level requirements, including resolving elevated end user support requests, and researching and deploying advanced technologies.
  • Business process analysis and system requirements development.
  • Work with our Cyber Security Team to implement approved system security policies to include the configuration of user access and permission across a variety of systems.
  • Monitors application status; support application event triage, monitoring, tracking, and correlation and event characterization and escalation, work with vendors as needed for event resolution. Follows up with customer to ensure issue has been resolved.
  • Provides technical assistance, training and system documentation for users to promote efficient operation of applications.

The selected applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 12 years of IT experience,
or
- Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 10 year of IT experience.

Required skills:
- Experience with Windows server or Linux server operating systems and concepts.
- Working knowledge of various enterprise hardware platforms and enterprise software applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience with troubleshooting, proactively identifying issues and driving them to resolution.
- Fast learner with ability to quickly comprehend technology and understand unique system requirements.

If not already DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant, must receive CompTIA Security+ or other DoD IAT Level II certification within 6 months of employment.

The selected applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.



Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Preferred skills include experience with the following:
- Managing and maintaining data storage arrays
- Managing and maintaining Windows & Red Hat Linux servers
- Virtualization (VMware) and cloud architectures (AWS).
- Experience with Windows or Linux operating systems and concepts.
- Committed to results and success in accomplishing goals.- Familiarity with documenting system functionality, source control systems and configuration/change management practices.
- I2C2 CISSP, CompTIA CASP or other DoD 8570 - IAT Level III certification
