The New Graduate RN Residency Program at Banner Health has received the highest accreditation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP). Banner Health's New Nurse Experience (NNE) provides a collaborative learning environment where you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and transition from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health.

About our program:

The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships.

Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. Unit preferences will be taken into consideration as we strive to achieve your long term nursing career goals. Within the program we hope to successfully match your desired service line with the needs of the business.

Day and night positions are available. Most new nurses will work three 12 hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members.

Program Activities Include:

  • Clinical experiences with a preceptor

  • Training in our state-of-the-art Banner Simulation Center

  • Competency and skills assessment and verification

  • Orientation to the Cerner electronic medical health record system

  • Patient care skills lab that provides hands-on experience with equipment

  • e-Learning modules

  • Resources for professional and personal development

Requirements to Apply Online:

  • Recent or Upcoming graduation from an accredited nursing program

  • BSN is preferred - open to ADN at select locations

  • Current BLS card (through either American Heart Association, Red Cross, or ASHI) or ability to obtain certification before a start date

  • No More than 12 months of RN experience

Application Deadlines/Process:

At this time, Banner Health's New Nurse Experience program is on-going and there is no application deadline. However, it is recommended that you apply no earlier than 60 days prior to your graduation date.

* Nursing students who successfully complete a preceptorships with Banner Health are considered first for a potential transition into the New Nurse Experience Program as a full-time RN in the same facility and unit. These students are invited to apply at any point during their preceptorship.

This is a full time, benefitted, and paid position.

$5,000 Sign-on bonus for Medical Surgical Night Shift Positions! If selected, recruiter to cover sign-on terms and eligibility criteria.

Location(s):

  • Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix is a level 1 trauma center, in the heart of Phoenix's metro area. This centrally located facility is just north of the downtown Phoenix area.

  • Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is a level 1 trauma center. This facility is near multiple freeways and still centrally located in the valley.

  • Banner Boswell Medical Center and Banner Del Webb Medical Center are in the northwest valley and are easily accessible off the freeway. These communities are fast growing areas of the Phoenix metro area.

  • Banner Estrella in the Southwest region of Phoenix has beautiful views of the Estrella Mountains and is in a fast-growing community.

  • The mountains create a beautiful view from Banner Baywood, Banner Ocotillo, Banner Ironwood and Banner Goldfield Medical Centers which are located on the thriving, east valley edge of Phoenix's metro area.

  • Banner Desert and Banner Children's Medical Center Level 1 Trauma facility is in the perfect location near Arizona State University and gorgeous Tempe Town Lake area.

  • Banner Gateway Medical Center/MD Anderson Cancer Center is an award-winning facility located in an award-winning town with top-rated schools and easy access to the entire east valley.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
