What you'll do
The Nursing Assistant (NA) I/II/III in the Inpatient Psychiatry unit is a key member to the nursing care team. They assist with direct and indirect patient care within their scope of practice, supporting patients, nursing and medical care teams. The care delivered is in collaboration and under the supervision/ delegation of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/ The Nursing Assistant (NA) shares accountability for the quality of patient outcomes. In select departments, the NA role may also include some clerical support functions (such as phone answering, filing, computer data entry, etc.)
What we need from you
Education:
Nursing Assistant I, II, III:
High School or GED, preferred
Experience:
Nursing Assistant I:
Entry level position, no experience required
Nursing Assistant II:
One of the following required:
Direct patient care experience at an acute care hospital, long term care facility, rehabilitation facility or licensed home care facility/agency.
Completion of one year of RN school from an approved ADN or BSN program where (and) a minimum of 30 hours of clinical patient care was performed.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), license must be current.
EMT certification with less than 1 year volunteer experience, certification must be current.
Nursing Assistant III
One of the following required:
Minimum of 2 years previous direct patient care experience at an acute care hospital, long term care facility, rehabilitation facility or licensed home care facility/agency.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with minimum 1 year full time experience in an acute care facility, long term care facility, rehabilitation facility or licensed home care facility/agency.
Current EMT certification with minimum 1 year field experience as an active volunteer or work experience. (ED applicants only).
License/Certification:
Nursing Assistant I:
BLS Certification required within 6 months of hire date.
Nursing Assistant II:
BLS Certification required.
Nursing Assistant III:
BLS Certification required
Physical Requirements:
Nursing Assistant I, II, III:
Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs, of force constantly to move objects.
Nursing Assistant I, II:
Occasional: Balancing, Climbing, Crouching, Typing/ Clerical/ Dexterity, Kneeling, Repetitive Motion.
Frequent: Grasping, Hearing, Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Seeing/ Monitor/ Computer Use, Standing, Stooping, Talking, Visual Acuity (color, depth, perception), Walking.
Constant: Fit Testing.
Nursing Assistant III:
Occasional: Crouching, Typing/Clerical/Dexterity, Kneeling, Repetitive Motion
Frequent: Grasping, Hearing, Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Seeing/Monitor/Computer Use, Standing, Stooping, Talking, Visual Acuity (color, depth, perception), Walking.
Constant: Fit Testing.
Hazards:
Nursing Assistant I, II, III:
Frequent: Bodily Fluids/ Bloodborne Exposure.
Nursing Assistant I, II:
Occasional: Burns, Chemical, Electrical.
Working Conditions: Nursing Assistant I, II, III:
Occasional: Noise, Wet and/or Humid, Dust, Gases, Mists, Odors.
Travel :No Travel Required.

Details:
Full Time: $15,000 Part Time: $7,500 Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary Range: Nursing Assistant I: $16.65 - $24.97 Nursing Assistant II: $17.32 - $25.98 Nursing Assistant III: $18.02 - $27.03
