We are actively looking for a Staff Event Manager to join the Mainframe Solutions Marketing team. The team operates in a fast-paced environment that requires self-directed, detail-oriented, motivated, flexible, deadline-driven, data-driven, and collaborative individual. In this role, you would be responsible for strategic event planning and leading the management of industry trade shows, events, and webinars worldwide working in conjunction with the BMC sales and field marketing teams.  You must be able to focus on the execution side of events, operate at the high-level view, deep dive into the details, and quickly recognize, anticipate and successfully resolve issues. Prior experience will help to implement a best practice approach to event management. You will manage the day-to-day processes and budget details, build project plans, and execute tactics and activities including analyzing outcomes from events and webinars to increase market share. Must be comfortable presenting to various individuals as well as executive management. You will regularly contribute to regular business overview documents developed for and shared with executive level team members. 


Responsibilities:

  • Set and execute the marketing event/webinar strategy in close collaboration with business unit leadership and the ecosystem including sales leadership and field marketing
  • Monitor, report, and analyze event and webinar performance to propose ways to increase engagement supported with data-driven analytics
  • Establish a measurement framework in partnership with marketing peers, refining success metrics and inputs that show impact of the events and webinars
  • Work closely with leadership to interpret and define overall vision and message for events/webinars, build objectives and tactics for events/webinars
  • Serve as the marketing liaison for the business unit, ensuring plans and goals align with key leadership functions including sales, corporate brand and communications, social media, video, etc.  
  • Able to dynamically adapt to changes in market and strategy
  • Support global initiatives with localized focus, input and customization
  • Manage logistics for key conference elements
  • Develop and manage planning documents, including timelines, overview decks, and specs
  • Develop and maintain budget, create POs, support vendor invoice/expense tracking
  • Lead cross-functional teams to produce presentations, materials support, internal communications, promotions, creative, social, media, etc.
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with internal teams and vendors
  • Communicate regularly on progress and budget to management
  • Ensure flawless execution, quality of service and timely delivery of all necessary components, properties, and materials for each event
  • Report on event success through predetermined analytical and qualitative assessments, conduct audits, and reconciliations
  • Stay current on industry best practices and bring fresh ideas


What we need from you:

  • Domestic and international travel required, approximately 35%
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills; works well across the company, at all levels of the organization
  • Must exhibit professional maturity, good judgment, and remain cool under pressure
  • Results driven, teamwork oriented, and customer focused
  • Analytical and process skills
  • Strong project management/organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize projects with competing timelines
  • 3-5 years experience with corporate event management
  • Passion for event marketing  
  • Self-motivated, high-energy, and resourceful with a growth mindset, always striving to learn from past experiences, and improve
  • Comfortable with technology and learning to use new applications and programs

BMC Software maintains a strict policy of not requesting any form of payment in exchange for employment opportunities, upholding a fair and ethical hiring process. The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 
The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,000 - $140,000
