We help our customers free up time and space to become an Autonomous Digital Enterprise that conquers the opportunities ahead - and are relentless in the pursuit of innovation! Our IZOT (Intelligent Z Optimisation and Transformation) team is responsible for all of BMC's mainframe portfolio of products that compete in the AppDev/DevOps, ITOM, Storage and Security markets. We have a particularly exciting opportunity for someone to come in and help guide us on how we should be introducing GenAI into our products, thus affecting thousands of customers worldwide!
Job responsibilities
- You will act as the product management subject matter expert and evangelist on the GenAI market. This includes being aware of industry solutions, use cases, emerging technologies in the GenAI and AI/ML space and applying insights to improve the business unit's go to market strategy and products.
- You will communicate the vision, strategy and roadmap internally to other departments and externally to customers and partners and represent the product line at industry events.
- You will advise a group of product managers who work with R&D to define product features, translate features into epics and user stories, manage and prioritize the contents of development sprints and maintain a release cadence using agile methodologies.
- You will support solutions marketing in the process of articulating the value proposition, unique selling points, key differentiators and product features and create messaging to be used in sales collateral, customer facing presentations, product documentation, internal enablement content and the company's website.
- You will work with technology partners such as leading AI/ML and cloud providers to define and execute business partnerships based on joint product solutions and technical integrations.
- You will speak with and listen to our customers and prospects, to understand their needs, gather feedback and requirements, and collaborate with them to build and validate product features.
- You will define metrics and analyze data on product usage and performance.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product management.
- 3+ years' experience in the AI/ML space and at least 1-year expereince with GenAI
- Understanding of the Agile software development process and principles
- Strong communication skills, can-do attitude, highly organized, collaborative, and mindful to details
- Results-driven mentality and strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate ideas into features and data into insights
- Fluent spoken and written English, proficiency with technical IT terminology
- Feel comfortable with giving live presentations in front of an audience
Nice to have qualifications.
- Experience as a product management leader, including management of other product managers.
- Familiarity with enterprise customers infrastructure and technical environments.
- A background in mainframe monitoring solutions is highly desirable.
- Previous experience as a software engineer is an advantage
- Knowledge / Experience with the IBM mainframe platform is an advantage.
