Job Description:

The Program Manager, Office of Education is responsible for the management, coordination, and evaluation of degree programs in the Office of Education in the School of Public Health. The School of Public Health offers two (2) undergraduate concentrations, three (3) masters programs, three (3) 5th year and dual degree master's programs, and four (4) doctoral programs.

This position serves a key role in managing and directing centralized activities that cross degree programs and departments, including, but not limited to, those related to graduate admissions operations; the curricular portfolio and all associated operations; and internal and external data management and reporting.

This position will also help communicate the goals and purpose of the Office of Education by supporting program evaluation, analyzing and visualizing metrics, and dissemination of the Office's programming and activities. The Project Manager will act as a liaison between the school leadership, program administrators, and students to ensure our degree programs align with Brown University standards and best practices, as well as accreditation mandates. They will also supervise up to two full time staff positions. The ideal candidate will be flexible, service-oriented, resourceful, and have strong communication skills with specific experience in program coordination, evaluation and growth.

Education

  • Required:  Bachelor's Degree with three (3) to five (5) years of administrative experience (preferably in an academic environment) or equivalent combination of  education/experience.

Experience

  • Experience in higher education preferred

  • Experience with database systems preferred

  • Experience with Tableau or other dashboarding tools preferred

Job Competencies

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and continued interest in enhancing skills in: Google and/or Microsoft office products, database systems, data dashboarding tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying needs, conducting research and developing innovative proposals, solutions and programs.

  • Ability to manage complex data needs, and to analyze, synthesize and summarize information.

  • Strong project-management and office management skills to facilitate timely and professional deliverables.

  • Written communication and editing skills for preparing correspondence, documents, reports, utilizing correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effectively dealing with a broad range of individuals at various levels within an organization.

  • Strong self-motivation skills and initiative for independently establishing effective working relationships with various organizations and students, alumni, faculty and staff at all levels of the organization and demonstrated ability to work as a member and leader of a team.

  • Administrative expertise with abilities to plan, set priorities, organize and coordinate on office operation, anticipate needs, work under the pressure of deadlines and exercise good judgment, particularly with sensitive or confidential matters.

  • Ability to react quickly and shift priorities when needed.

  • Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Ability to delegate effectively.
