Job Description

Reporting to the Lead Category Manager for Private Brand and Merchandise, the Circle K Category Manager will deliver ambitious results and market share growth through executing local and  European strategies for relevant categories in the Circle K business.  

This is a full-time role on a 12 month fixed term contract based in Circle K Support Office, Clonskeagh, Dublin 4 on a hybrid model of 3 days office, 2 days' work from home.  

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for Category Sales, Margin, Units, Traffic and Market Share and joint marketing funding improvements. 

  • Broaden customer offering by sourcing, negotiating, and commercialising existing and fresh assortment through existing supply chain.  

  • Impetus on managing and utilising relationships with supply base.   

  • Focus on evolving and leading categories in market in commercially astute manner and winning market share.  

  • Heavily weighted requirement to own the execution of local BU strategy and tactics. 

  • Facilitate: Planogram, Floorplan, Sourcing/Supply Chain, Training and Execution in all areas of strategies, tactics, and projects for Convenience Categories with stakeholders 

  • Research, develop and pilot new ideas and innovations for local category growth in line with improving Customer Journey.  

  • Adopt yearly EU Category/Marketing Plans and develop local category marketing plans on a BU market level following the European process, structure, and timing; Align and secure this category plan with all relevant stakeholders.  

  • Support, follow-through and assist with planning and implementation as well as on-going execution. 

  • Report to BU Leadership Team on regular basis results, plans and initiatives that demonstrate success.  

Skills/Qualificationsrequired 

  • Relevant academic qualification in business, marketing or procurement and a minimum of 3 years' experience working in FMCG/retail or specialized industry. 

  • Knowledgeable in category management and performance management tools and methods within retail business. 

  • Sourcing products through existing suppliers while adding new supply opportunities.  

  • Track Record of innovation and achieving “First Mover” status with successful outcomes.  

  • Experience from working with consumer insights, product & brand development. 

  • Evidence of procurement and contract negotiations and delivering strategic growth plans.  

  • Experience in product research and development, Supply Chain, product regulations, quality control, HSE
