Position Summary

The Texas Operations Excellence Manager is a field store support position where you will partner with the regional District Managers (DM) and Regional Director of Operations (RDO) to improve operational processes and results, support the implementation of new company initiatives, ensure the customer experience, store organization and safety in the workplace, and assist in mitigating potential financial and litigious losses through reviewing reports, quality store visits and training & development in all functional operational areas. You will lead the analysis of audit results, P&L reporting and budget management while providing feedback to business unit management. Significant operational knowledge is needed along with the ability to develop and articulate strategic communication recommendations while working closely with different departments. Additional key responsibilities include the oversight of new operational programs through scheduling, managing roll-out teams and conducting field training.

Essential Job Functions

  • Reviews and analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly reports to identify Loss Prevention opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance and accountability for the TEXAS Loss Prevention Contract responsibilities.
  • Monitor, review and communicate Legion, Mystery Shop and iAuditor data and related opportunities.
  • Completes unannounced store cash audits and partners with the Store Managers and District Manager on training & development and cash audit action plans.
  • Reviews final merchandise audit results and partners with the Store Manager and District Manager on inventory management action plan.
  • Assists with Core-mark/RDC issues as related to deliveries and invoicing.
  • Provides guidance and training for maintaining adequate store inventory levels through backroom organization and the suggestive ordering process.
  • Project management for new and existing company field initiatives. Coordinating, training, implementing, and troubleshooting projects (currently Mashgin, Smart Safe, Legion, FFF and upcoming Fuel Rebrands and Loyalty; all others as assigned) for your assigned region.
  • Manages HSE by identifying and resolving potential areas of liability, including store ADA compliance.
  • Ensures Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.  
  • Provides analysis of various reports including, but not limited to store's P&Ls, audits and budgets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary.

Additional Job Description

  • To properly perform the duties of this position as outlined above, it is essential that the individual be able to meet the following physical demands:
    • Use fax machines, scanners, and copiers.
    • Stand and sit for extended periods. Intermittently bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
    • Lift up to 30 lbs.
    • Accurately review and enter data, compile spreadsheets, extract and analyze reports.
    • Organize data and maintain workspace if in an office environment.
    • Communicate to and with coworkers, District Managers, Directors, and shared services teammates in a professional manner.
    • Articulate and exchange accurate information.
    • Coordinates, schedules new program rollouts and manages roll-out teams.
  • Demonstrates operational expertise by providing solutions and support to cross functional departments.
  • Creates measurable reports including but not limited to new initiatives, Operational Excellence, and budgets.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure timely ordering and delivery of needed supplies and materials for efficient rollouts.
  • Maintains budget compliance of rollouts through review and approval of invoicing.
  • Ensures training compliance and completion through CBTs and by conducting training classes for new programs that affect operations.
  • Conducts routine training meetings for management.
  • Must have the ability to travel, possess a valid driver's license and consent to a DMV report review as a company car is provided.

Requirements

Associate or bachelor's degree in fields related to finance, audit or business management preferred.

A minimum of one year experience in and around retail business functions and responsibilities

Excellent interpersonal skills

Works well independently and in team settings

Possess a solid skillset in all Microsoft Office tools; especially Excel initiating and modifying spreadsheets. 

Exceptional communication skills to read, listen, understand, and communicate information and ideas in a clear, concise, and understandable manner, both orally and in writing

Ability to process information including gathering, assessing, analyzing, organizing, auditing, and verifying data.

Working Conditions

This is a field rooted position with expectations of 75% of time spent in Circle K stores. Work may occasionally include tight deadlines, long hours, weekends, and rarely holidays.
