The Finance & Control department in Circle K Business Centre in Riga, Latvia is a part of the Global Finance organization and is responsible for the full accounting and financial reporting cycle for Circle K European operations.
Join us on a journey to support Circle K business expansion in the role of
Senior Manager, Value Added Tax EuropeMain Responsibility:
Interact and build trust with Business units and Leaders in Europe.
Perform European indirect tax legislative interpretation and assess the impact on the organization.
Draft/review European VAT position papers.
Enhance risk management by continuous review and optimization of processes, data and systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
Performance evaluation and coaching to analyst/senior analyst-level resources.
Provide global oversight for VAT, coordinating with external advisors and team leaders –e.g. related to new business, transactions, planning, system upgrades, etc.
Ensure appropriate tax document retention, version control, and knowledge management.
Manage European VAT controversy and dispute resolution activities.
Qualifications required:
Minimum 5 years of work experience within European indirect taxes, more specifically Value Added Tax (VAT);
Certified accountant or lawyer designation.
The candidate should be familiar with:
VAT Directive 2006/112/EC.
Requirement in the Bookkeeping Act that impacts VAT.
Intra-community transactions (cross-border EU countries) (fuel transportation from one country to the other) (fuel purchase in one country and supply to a customer in another country).
Trade in international water.
Export and import.
The following would be an asset:
VAT reporting depending on T1 and T2 status on fuel.
Triangulation.
Intrastat / sales list /purchase list.
SAF-T reporting.
VAT group.
Chain sale (Vega case);
New requirements that will come in Europe as VIDA and e-invoicing.
