GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the departmental supervisor, acts in the capacity of assistant to a division head of Baton Rouge City Court performing highly responsible work of a coordinating and supervisory nature in the Probation division. Work involves assisting the division head in overseeing the services provided to the public and to the court, and assisting with the assignment, direction, coordination, and evaluation of probationary and clerical services, drug lab operations, and home incarceration program. Acts in the capacity of Domestic Violence Court Coordinator performing highly responsible work coordinating the activities of a Specialty Court. Duties also involve assisting the Clerk of City Court/Judicial Administrator, or City Court Judges. Work involves the use of considerable independent judgment within established policies and guidelines. Supervision is exercised over a staff of professional and clerical personnel. Performs other work as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, corrections, law, social work, psychology, or similar field, and four years of experience in professional probation work, including two years of supervisory experience.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
