Job Description

Teach a variety of Culinary or Pastry Arts courses with differing modes of instruction, lecture, technology, demonstration, and practical application, presenting the course materials in a manner that educates and engages students.

  • Provide students with syllabi that meet college, department, and program requirements.

  • Effectively evaluate student performance while meeting assessment guidelines.

  • Communicate with students in a timely manner.

  • Obtain certifications required to teach classes as requested by the program director or department chair.

  • Develop a professional working relationship with other faculty and staff in the department and the college.

  • Participate in program/division meetings and activities.

  • Keep abreast of current industry trends and participate in local professional organizations.

  • THESE QUALIFICATIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN YOUR RESUME AND/OR COVER LETTER.

  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent in Industry Experience.

  • Direct food service management experience.

Prefer Qualifications

  • If you have teaching experience, please attach one sample syllabus from a class you have taught to your on-line application.

  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent in Industry Experience.

  • Five years of general hands-on Culinary and/or Pastry experience as a line employee and multiple years of food service management experience.

  • Current ServSafe Certified.

  • Skills in use and operation of basic computer software.

  • Knowledge of current trends in the food and beverage industry.

  • Written and verbal communication skills that will facilitate effective teaching and mentoring.

$925 per credit hour.
