  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Registered Nurses provide direct care to patients and are a part of all care given by other departments. Registered Nurses must continually strive to provide the highest quality of care possible for the patients. They must also lead the nursing team toward the achievement of the goals of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. High quality care and overall efficiency are essential components to this success.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education and Experience:
      • A minimum of 2 years prior critical care experience preferred.
    • License/Certificates:
      • Current Minnesota RN license. American Heart Association BLS required within 30 days of hire. American Heart Association ACLS and PALS within 4 months of hire. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire. CRMC employees with a CALS certification obtained prior to August of 2022 will be viewed as current and meeting this requirement. Staff going forward from August 2022 onward will need to obtain TNCC.

      • Ability to lead and supervise resident/patient care team.
      • Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients and family, staff and other healthcare providers.
      • Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation.
      • Knowledge of applied science principles in nursing situations involving techniques and procedures, hygiene and safety measures.
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to recognize manifestation of physical and emotional problems.
      • Knowledge and skills to review charts and enter data efficiently.
      • Teaching ability and ability to work independently using good judgment.
      • Ability to properly and safely operate all equipment required for this position.
      • Knowledge and use of community resources.
      • May be assigned to specialty areas.
  • ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • RN:
      • Exercises concern for the patient's welfare, maintains knowledge of the patient's condition, administers medication and performs treatment while practicing and maintaining high ethical standards.
      • Responsible for the direct and indirect care of residents/patients assigned to her/him under the guidance of the CNO and/or Nurse Manager.
      • Maintains accurate and complete records of nursing assessments and care and counsels the patient and family in meeting nursing and related needs.
      • Remains up-to-date on new nursing skills and technology and utilizes the nursing process (observation, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the delivery of care.
      • Performs duties in accordance with physician's orders, the medical center's policies, methods, and techniques, and in coordinating with other departments and personnel.
      • Provides leadership and promotes teamwork.
      • When requested, participates in in-service programs, education programs, and orientation of new personnel.
      • Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
    • Emergency Department RN:
      • Performs triage and assignment of triage level using the ESI triage system, and demonstrates the ability to quickly assess patient needs and recognize emergent patient presentations. 
      • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize patients and interventions based on acuity and department census.
      • Maintain ED care and documentation standards.

Schedule: Part Time Over, Varied - 8 & 12 hour shifts
