The UMass Memorial Health Care Department of Psychiatry is the largest provider of psychiatric services in central Massachusetts with over 400 faculty members who work in a variety of settings within UMass Memorial Health Care, the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and the public sector. We integrate our clinical, research, teaching and community partnership activities to help individuals and families transform their lives through recovery from mental illness and addiction.

We seek a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to provide clinical rotating cross-coverage within the Department of Psychiatry for vacations and extended medical leaves.

  • The right candidate must enjoy flexibility in clinical care, ranging from inpatient to emergency mental health services and have the desire and enthusiasm for teaching our psychiatry residents and medical students.
  • Coverage sites include:
    • 15-bed general inpatient psychiatric unit on our University Campus (8 East)
    • 26-bed Psychiatric Treatment and Recovery Center (PTRC) located in downtown Worcester
    • 20-bed geriatric psychiatric unit located in Clinton
    • Adult Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison services on both the University & Memorial Campuses
    • Emergency Mental Health unit located in the University ED
