We're looking for an early to mid-career Android engineer with design systems & Jetpack Compose expertise who is passionate about building performant and accessible UI components. In this role, you will work closely with designers, product, accessibility, and other engineers across Android, iOS, and Web platforms to develop, support, and evolve the Pulse Design System. We are passionate about helping build consistent user experiences across numerous lines of business and CVS brands. Our ideal candidate has direct design systems contribution experience, strong communication skills with a drive to support others, and is someone who wants to have a hand in helping thousands of our internal partners to do their best work. *What We Expect of You* * You will build and test durable, easy-to-use, accessible components. You will advocate for best practices in all phases of the software life cycle, pushing for continuous improvement and innovation. * You are an advocate of engineering best practices, including test coverage, clean code, security, and a11y. * You will play an active role on a cross-functional team of designers, developers, and accessibility experts. * You will actively participate in peer code reviews, both providing and receiving feedback. * You are an active participant in team discussions and openly share your opinion. * You actively seek technical coaching and mentorship from management and senior engineers. * You understand the value of sharing information in team meetings and look for opportunities to present. * You leverage opportunities to learn. * You will actively support CVS internal users through engagement in various support channels, Design System Office Hours, and engineering communities of practice. * Occasionally, you'll wear your DevOps hat to ensure developers can successfully release and consume components. *Required Qualifications* * 3+ years of overall software engineering experience. * 3+ years of experience working on agile teams. * 3+ years of Kotlin development. * 1+ years of Jetpack Compose development. * Proficient understanding of various design system concepts (e.g., design tokens, components, patterns, etc.). * Proficiency in mobile technologies for the entire SDLC. * Experience with Kotlin coroutines and flows. * Experience with the Gradle build system and writing custom Gradle tasks. * Experience partnering with design and product partners to deliver products at scale. * Experience working with a source versioning tool, such as Git. * Experience with automated testing and proficiency with a testing framework (e.g., XCTest). * Strong verbal and written communication skills. *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience contributing directly to a design system or part of a design system team. * Experience building UI components with accessibility * Experience working on a project using mature CI/CD practices. * Exposure to DevOps tools, processes, and culture (e.g., CircleCI, Git, etc.). * Experience supporting users of internal systems or equivalent customer support experience. * Awareness of new and emerging technologies. *Education* * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. *Pay Range* The typical pay range for this role is: $64,890.00 - $154,500.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.    In addition to your compensation, enjoy the rewards of an organization that puts our heart into caring for our colleagues and our communities.  The Company offers a full range of medical, dental, and vision benefits.  Eligible employees may enroll in the Company's 401(k) retirement savings plan, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan is also available for eligible employees.  The Company provides a fully-paid term life insurance plan to eligible employees, and short-term and long term disability benefits.
