The Monroe VA CBOC located in Monroe, LA, has an immediate opening for a full-time, staff psychiatrist. Monroe offers beautiful scenery with rich culture. The Monroe VA CBOC is fully dedicated to providing top-quality medical care by serving and honoring America's Veterans.
Highlights of this position include:
- Potential starting base salary: $245,000 - $306,000
- Daily schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery from any U.S. State
- Providing mental health services for any eligible veteran requesting services.
- Recording data from patient visits, including chief complaints, active problems, medications, physical findings and results of diagnostic tests.
- Formulating assessment and plan according to accepted protocols, treatment plans or attending physician's treatment protocols, treatment plans or recommendations.
- Prescribing medications according to formulary.
- Orders lab and non-invasive diagnostic and preventative screening tests as indicated.
- Referring patients to other services of subspecialty clinics as indicated, including nutritional counseling.
- Performs and records history and physical examinations.
- Performs review of lab results and identifies abnormalities according to established guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board certified or board eligible.
