Job Details

General Summary:

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate reconciliation of non-merchandise products sold in our retail stores. The auditor will be responsible for the research and resolution of discrepancies between register activity and vendor billings to ensure posting accuracy of monthly non-merchandise sales and liability accounts.  Reconciliation of non-merchandise products is conducted through utilization of the ReconNet software. Reconciliation will require basic knowledge of accounting and strong analytical and problem solving skills. Other responsibilities will include (but not limited to) testing of POS test scripts, closing weekly sales, and balancing organizational sales.  This position also assists in activating gift card orders as requested by internal/external customers. Other department interaction will include Stores Systems, Store Operations, Accounting, and Merchandising, as well as external communication with all non-merchandise vendors as necessary. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile non-merchandise sales items to vendor billings.
  • Research and identify outstanding issues.         
  • Gift Card Activations    
  • Assist with special projects.          

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent problem solving skills to proactively recognize issues and resolve any potential problems.
  • Strong PC skills – ReconNet experience a plus.
  • Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, and be a self-starter.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation process.
  • Decision making skills and strong initiative to research issues.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with management and outside institutions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers, management, and vendors.
  • Ability to be a team player with good customer service skills


Qualifications

Work Experience and Education:

A minimum 1-year of applicable experience or 3 years work experience.  In addition, Associates degree or 2 years toward Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other similar field of study is a plus.
