Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Reentry Facility Case Manager is the primary point of contact with the participants and others in the detention facility. The Reentry Facility Case Manager will recruit and enroll program participants, facilitate groups, and conduct one-on-one case management.  
  • The Workforce Reentry Career Coach must be willing and able to work in a correctional facility providing one-on-one, group instruction, and case management services.
  • The Workforce Reentry Career Coach confirms eligibility and manages enrollment activities, including scheduling and facilitating information and intake sessions in coordination with the Program Manager and Regional Manager creating an environment that reinforces appropriate behavior and positive morale.
  • Evaluates and monitors participant progress on work assignments; develops and uses predetermined daily and weekly lesson/work plans.
  • Assists participants with AZ Job Connection registration, job readiness, resume development, IDP development, skills training, self-help and social skills, and using computers and cell phones.
  • Plans, implements, and coordinates events to increase success of participants to obtain and retain employment (such as mock interviews, job fairs, Virtual interviewing, and training and certification activities).
  • Monitors release dates and coordinated reentry transition planning in coordination with the Program Manager and Community Case Manager.
  • Conducts Employer Engagement to identify second chance employers, advocate for work-ready participants, and establish work-based learning opportunities such as Job Shadows, Transitional Jobs, On-the-Job Training, or Apprenticeships that lead to unsubsidized employment opportunities.
  • Participates in participant staffing and advocacy during Adult Recovery Team meetings and Drug Court. 
  • Networks with transitional living facilities, behavioral health organizations, and Adult Probation and Parole Offices Correctional facilities, and Community Based Organizations to strengthen connections to workforce services and leverage resources.
  • Conducts presentations to provide updates to key stakeholders. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associate's Degree in combination with experience including lived experience; or Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of full-time experience working with the justice-involved, peer support, or project management preferred.
  • Supervision, communication (verbal, written, listening) organizational (prioritizing tasks, maintaining case notes), data collection. 
  • Must successfully pass a background and drug screening process, including, but not limited to, state, local, and funder criminal background check requirements.
  • Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd Auto Insurance and drive for business purposes.   Must have appropriate and valid state driver's license. Your driver's record will be reviewed before the job offer is made.

About Our Workforce Programs:

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Reentry Justice Involved Services for individuals involved in the justice system to assist them in overcoming barriers and promote career path training opportunities.  This program connects participants to services that meets their individual needs, such as short-term transitional housing, soft Skills Classes, National Certifications and training, Job placement assistance, Community resources and referrals, and more.  Through services provided, the goal is to reduce recidivism, support successful transitional planning for individuals who are currently, or were formerly, involved in the criminal justice system. and improve outcomes for adults leaving detention and incarceration reentering back into their communities.
