Principal IT Developer

The Principal IT Developer at Epicor offers specialized skills in crafting innovative systems, applications, services, and workflows. They possess a deep comprehension of our clients' requirements and can adeptly transform those needs into advanced technical solutions. Additionally, this role assumes a leadership position, guiding and supporting team members within the IT Development division.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Plans, designs, develops, and tests software systems or applications.
• Works closely with other teams to ensure change and release requirements are met.
• Works with all other areas of IT for review and fix of test errors.
• Designs and delivers formal or informal training, mentorship, and supports other IT groups and business groups.
• Provides leadership and coaching to the team.
• Recommends and implements best practices.
• Keeps up with external trends to incorporate into products and processes.
• Proactively optimizes processes (automation, continuous integration, etc.).
• Promotes and holds others accountable to Epicor's best practices and interests at all times.
• Acts as an evangelist for Epicor at inside and outside events.

What You Will Likely Bring:

• Understanding of multi-tiered applications
• Knowledge of relational databases
• Experience in developing solutions using C#, .NET and SQL Server
• Good SQL/T-SQL skills – advanced queries, stored procedures, cursors
• Experience with REST APIs
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing.
• Ability to gather requirements, produce estimates, create designs.
• Skilled at producing elegant, maintainable code. 
• Experience writing functional and regression tests.
• Good at communicating (written and verbal) with Business users, other technical teams and management
• Ability to work as part of a team, and be able to lead and mentor team members
• Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• Thought leader and change agent
• Knowledge of the Epicor ERP/Kinetic Products
• Ability to customise ERP/Kinetic – UIs, BPMs, Functions, SDK.
• Use of Epicor Administration Console
• Experience of other Epicor Products – ECM, IDC, Quick Ship
• Experience with SFDC, BarTender

What Could Set You Apart:

• 8+ years of applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge.
• 5+ years of experience programming within the Epicor ERP
• 3+ years of specialized/industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
