Job Summary

In our Design Center in Filderstadt, our team creates technologies for the Automotive Market. Our portfolio includes High and Low voltage DC/DC Converters, Inverters, Battery management systems, Recuperation modules, Overhead Consoles, Smart Control Units as well as internal and external lighting applications.

For our Design Center team, we are currently looking for a

Functional Safety Engineer/ Coordinator (m/w/d)

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Develop and lead the functional safety architecture of the product in cooperation with the system architect
  • Support all functional safety activities with product managers, development team, suppliers and customers up to the achievement of the safety goals on products
  • Define the safety life cycle activities acc. to project phases in coordination with project management
  • Presentation of all functional safety-related topics
  • Assist and contribute to the safety plan and make sure that the schedule and required artifacts are met
  • Calculation of safety-related parameters (metrics) SPF (single-point faults), MPF (Multiple point faults), LF (latent faults), RF (random faults), PMHF (probabilistic metric for random hardware failures)
  • Collaborate with all required stakeholders to identify and define technical/ system requirements, safety requirements tied to the safety goals
  • Execute Functional Safety Management Reviews acc. ISO 26262: SW Architecture, HW design

Here is some of what you'll need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering, or similar field
  • Knowledge in Hardware, Software development, and Architecture
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive area of functional safety (ISO 26262)
  • Fluent German and English knowledge both in written and spoken form
  • Hands-on with an analytical mindset and a proven track record of problem-solving
