Harbor Freight's social media channels are growing, and as we build more digital initiatives, we are looking to grow our social media team. The Digital Content Creator will help increase the amount of content posted across all of Harbor Freight's owned media channels. This role would be responsible for creating content (mostly video) for social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter. This role includes scripting, shooting, and editing short form videos - based off the needs of various internal teams, such as: paid marketing, quality assurance, and ecommerce. This role requires travel locally throughout the Los Angeles area (often) to shoot video in-store and on location at video shoots. Additional travel may be required, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create vertical video content for social media channels and HarborFreight.com:
- Includes planning, scripting, filming, recording voice over, editing, and posting content
- Create horizontal video content for YouTube and HarborFreight.com:
- Includes planning, scripting, filming, recording voice over, editing, and posting content
- Manage and coordinate video shoots.
- Order, pick up, assemble, and set up tools in the correct context for videos.
- Work closely with the paid marketing team to create content for paid social media campaigns.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to create how-to short-form content about products for HarborFreight.com.
- Assist in capturing social media photography of our products, as needed.
- Collaborate with Merchants and other internal teams to strategize social media content for new products.
- Assist in responding and engaging with social media followers and monitoring conversations online about the Harbor Freight brand.
- Stay up to date on the latest emerging platform trends and social media filming techniques.
- Work together with the social team to understand performance and growth metrics in order to adjust creative for optimizing posts.
- Assist in developing a social media content strategy to drive brand awareness, engagement, growth, and advocacy.
- Present work to key stakeholders on a quarterly basis.
- Collaborate with our Merchandising and Quality Assurance Teams to review social media content to ensure proper tool usage.
- Additional duties as assigned by social media team.
Requirements
Job Qualifications – Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in business, marketing, or communications.
- Minimum of 5 years of digital marketing experience, brand marketing experience, or related public relations experience.
- Experience as a social content creator (personal or for a brand), with knowledge of what performs well on each platform and what doesn't, required.
- Experience using video and photography tools, required.
- Experience editing video for social media, required.
- Ability to be on camera, as needed, preferred.
- Experience and general understanding of tools, preferred.
Job Qualifications- Skills
- Experience with analytics systems and/or tools (web, social platforms, Excel, Google Analytics), preferred.
