Job Summary and Qualifications

Lead Radiology Technologist

The Lead Radiologic Technologist is responsible for prioritizing the performance of diagnostic radiology imaging procedures to the patient populations within specific guidelines of practice.

Tasks and responsibilities, you will:

  • Demonstrates technical responsibility in the radiology supervisor role by performing and prioritizing radiographic imaging procedures as requested by the Medical Staff of the facility
  • Supervises technologists to ensure consistent high quality, correctly identified and marked, radiographic exams performed according to department protocol and standards
  • Uses and supervises the use of the R.I.S. / PACS system and participates in training and implementation of new updates to system
  • Performs diagnostic studies in the absence of a staff technologist or as the work load demand
  • Reports equipment failures immediately, develops plan of action for procedure assignments, implements plan displaying team effectiveness toward achieving departmental operations
  • Participates in Quality Assurance activities. Recommends promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions

 Position Qualifications:

  • Current state licensure or permit to practice medical imaging.
  • Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers.
  • ARRT Certification
  • BLS Healthcare Provider
  • 1 – 3 years Radiology Tech work experience
  • Supervisory experience, preferred
